Dave Carpenter, a cartoonist with Emmetsburg Publishing, works with students at Project Learning on drawing a picture of a shoe out of a catalog. Carpenter has been offering art activities twice a week since March. The students have made Easter cards, murals of what they like and are now working on drawing their favorite tennis shoes. Project Learning is a day habilitation program offered on the campus of Iowa Lakes Community College. It is a program Iowa Lakes and Horizons Unlimited have provided together for 27 years. Two new programs offered in during the last 12 months were music and art therapy.

Janet Nirk and Orland Bordwell, Project Learning students, work on drawing and coloring their favorite tennis shoes.
